Which of your pages compete with each other?
Two pages after the same search do not add up. They cancel out.
The problem you cannot see from one page
Every other check reads a page on its own and asks what is wrong with it. This one is the fault that only exists between two pages, so no amount of looking at either will find it.
Both pages lose, and neither looks broken
Two pages after the same search split the links and the attention between them. Each one on its own reads fine, which is exactly why this goes unnoticed for years.
Search picks for you, and picks badly
When two of your pages could answer, something has to choose one. It is often the older or thinner page, and the one you actually want ranking sits behind it.
It compounds every time you publish
The more you write on a subject you already cover, the more of your own pages you put in the way. Growth makes this worse, not better.
Pages in, the colliding pairs out
Paste two pages or more
The text, or the whole source. Tags are stripped for you and the title fills itself in.
It weighs the words that matter
Words your whole site uses count for nothing. The rare ones that two pages share are the signal.
You get the pairs and the call
Which pages collide, how closely, the words behind it, and whether to merge, redirect or separate them.
What comes back
Every pair, compared
Each page against every other, ranked worst first, so you start with the pair costing you the most.
A rating, not a verdict
Same page twice, splitting the same search, or just worth a look. The middle band exists because most real cases live there.
The words that give it away
The rarest words the two share, which is the reason they collide, not the vocabulary your whole site repeats.
Whether the titles match too
Two pages titled almost the same thing is the loudest signal there is, and it is called out on its own.
What to actually do
Merge and redirect, or give each a distinct job. Different advice for a duplicate than for two takes on one subject.
The pages that are fine
Named too, because most of them will be, and a tool that only lists problems reads as if everything is one.
Straight talk about what it cannot see
It compares the words on the pages you give it. That is a real measure and a limited one, and both halves of that are worth saying.
It reads words, not searches
Two pages can compete in the results while reading quite differently, and this will not catch that. It finds the overlap you can see in the text.
It does not know which one is winning
It names the pair. Which of the two currently ranks, and which deserves to, needs live search data it has no access to.
It only knows the pages you paste
It cannot crawl your site, so a page you leave out is a page it cannot warn you about.
Your pages never leave your machine
The whole comparison runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, which is also why there is no limit on it.
Stop competing with yourself
The fastest ranking win is usually a page you already have, freed from the one sitting on it.
